 Martin McGrath - Chief Instructor

Martin is a full time professional diver. Originally from the North East of England, he began diving whilst still studying for his degree. He freely admits to not being able to ”Walk past a puddle without wanting to get in it to see what’s at the bottom of it” and thinks that the North and South Polar regions are one of the best places on earth to do it.

He has done more than 10,000 dives in a career lasting more than 25 years. He is a PADI Master Instructor, a BSAC Advanced Instructor and an HSE Commercial diver. He works as a safety and support diver with considerable experience in remote and extreme environments of supervising clientele and passengers on expedition ships, as well as the unique requirements of professional media personnel such as the BBC Natural History Unit, BBC Science, National Geographic staff, Several European Diving publications, numerous production companies and Rolex Scholarship award winners.

Martin is a speciality instructor in more than 17 PADI disciplines, an Emergency First Response instructor trainer and a scuba technician for Poseidon, Dacor, and Suunto scuba equipment.

He has dived in Antarctica, Australia, Scapa Flow, UK, Norway, France, Spain, Sicily, Beirut, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Caribbean, Indian Ocean, South Africa, Mozambique, Maldives and the Galapagos Islands. Martin has been Polar Diver Supervisor on many Waterproof Expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctica and is a Polar Diver Specialty Instructor.



 Andrew Palma - Owner

“The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears, or the sea.” Andrew is the owner of Dive Monkey and Scuba Q Store. 

Andrew began diving in 2014 and has been hooked ever since. He is a PADI Dive Master, a PADI Master Diver, has 16 PADI specialties and is an authorised Atlantis service technician.

Andrew is an experienced polar diving and snorkelling guide and works as a dive guide for Expeditions in Antarctica and Tierra del Fuego.

He lists one of his most memorable experiences as diving with whale sharks in the Maldives.
